GOD CALLS US TO HAVE A CHILDLIKE FAITH

During Jesus’ time of ministry on Earth, He revealed a great love for children… and He calls us to become just like them. Through our childlike faith, God is able to work mightily in our lives.
“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of Heaven.” – Matthew 18:3
We see in little ones so many appealing qualities that are encompassed in childlike faith. Children are trusting, loving, forgiving, persevering… full of wonder, joy and hope. Knowing that their parents will always love and protect them, they are able to grow and blossom.
“The Lord protects those of childlike faith.” – Psalm 116:6
Our Heavenly Father loves us, His children, unconditionally and has our best interests at heart. We are assured of His watchful protection. Understanding this allows us to blossom and mature with faith like a child…
- Trusting God as we cast out fear
- Loving others as we set aside hostility
- Forgiving as He so completely forgives us
- Persevering and staying true to our faith
- Living in wonder and awe of His creation
- Allowing His joy to fill our hearts
- Having hope in our eternal security with Him
All these traits are manifested perfectly in the very person of Jesus. When we demonstrate childlike faith, we are expressing Christlikeness in our lives. We reflect Christ to everyone we meet. We become receptive to the divine will of God playing out in our lives. As we allow His sovereign hand to guide us, He leads us through to spiritual maturity.
