GOD HAS A WONDERFUL PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE
____________________________________________________________
“’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope.’” – Jeremiah 29:11 –
Our Lord has a new and bright future that He desires for us. The omniscient One, who spans all eternity, is not limited by time. He reigns over all our yesterdays and our tomorrows. He knows all that will happen in the eternal future.
Often, we wonder how our lives will play out… what awaits us in the future. Yet in His infinite wisdom, God chooses to not reveal this knowledge to His children. Since He alone knows what is to come, He alone is the One in whom we place our unceasing faith and hope for the future.
“The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.” – Proverbs 4:18
Believers are established in the righteousness of Christ. As we live His way… as we abide in His presence… as we give Him due reverence with our lives, He promises to be with us and in us through His Spirit. His wondrous plan opens before us. If we step outside of His will, we prevent His plan from unfolding… dimming the bright future He has in store for us.
How do you embrace all that God has planned for you?
⇒ Follow the Light of your Savior
“Let us walk in the light of the Lord.” – Isaiah 2:5
Our Lord illuminates our lives. He is the Light of the World. His light and love fortify us for our Christian journey. Our trust rests in the Author and Perfecter of our faith. The closer we stay to Him, the brighter His light will shine in our lives and into our future.
⇒ Let the past go
“Do not cling to events of the past or dwell on what happened long ago.” – Isaiah 43:18
Our past needs to be left in the past. If we try to carry it with us, it will weigh us down for the journey. It will taint our outlook and dim our future. Jesus paid the price for our past. So we must let go of all sin and sorrow… guilt and grief… pain and defeat. We release all dashed hopes for what our lives could have been. We give the burden of our past to the only One who can bear it for us.
⇒ Live the present in Christ’s holy presence
“Let reverence for the Lord be the concern of your life. If it is, you have a bright future.” – Proverbs 23:18
Jesus promises to never leave us or forsake us. His Holy Spirit is the guarantee of His everpresence in our lives. He is the One to whom we owe our all. As we walk this Christian journey, let us be captured by the love of our Savior. Let us live His peace… experience His joy… embrace His hope. And let us shine forth in this dark world with His radiant light. For our future begins today.
⇒ Trust your future to Jesus
“Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.” – Isaiah 43:19
God has a wonderful plan for our lives. Yet we need to spend time in His Word and in prayer, seeking His direction instead of our own. We need to let His excellent plan unfold… a plan designed lovingly just for us. Our fears of the future subside as we place our trust in our ever-faithful Lord. For His will and His timing are perfect. We walk by faith into the wondrous future He has planned for us.
“Arise, shine, for your Light has come, and the glory of the Lord shines over you.” – Isaiah 60:1
Lord, we step out into this new year, entrusting our future to You. Give us the courage to leave the past behind and embrace the bright future You have set before us. Strengthen us to live the present for You, seeking Your will for our lives. Encourage us on our Christian journey. Favor us with Your love, Your peace, Your joy, Your hope. Let us shine forth in the world with Your light. Let us glorify You all our days in all our ways. We trust You continually, now and for all eternity. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
