GOD SOVEREIGNLY RULES AND ORCHESTRATES HIS CREATION

“He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” – Colossians 1:17 –
Sovereignty is supreme power and authority. God is sovereign over all His creation. He is the supreme ruler over the entire universe. All things are under His control. He always was and always will be. He is from everlasting to everlasting.
God spoke the world into existence. As Creator, He is greater that His creation. The Creator rules over His creation. All created beings yield to His absolute sovereignty. He breathes life into every living creature. He is our Creator. In Him, we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28).
All in heaven and earth and under the earth recognize God’s almighty power. No one has jurisdiction over Him. With a word, He can wield His omnipotent power. Satan and his evil spirits are subject to God for they are His creations, albeit rebellious ones.
God the Father has exalted Christ to the highest place so that all should bow in reverence and worship before Him (Philippians 2:9-10). Even the enemy and his pawns accept the truth that God is the One in authority. Yet the time has not come where they have to bow to Him. When Christ returns with all power and might, the enemy will meet his fate.
“The Lord has established His throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all.” – Psalm 103:19
Our sovereign God is in absolute control. He is perfect in all His works. His wise purposes and creative will stand behind everything He does. No person, no creature, no detail is lost to Him. Nothing in all creation can overrule the sovereignty of God.
Imagine God as Conductor of a beautiful symphony. The symphony is His creation. He has lovingly composed a masterpiece. He has written the music for each of the individual instruments. Each player plays their part and looks to Him for direction.
We are all musicians in God’s divine orchestra. He has composed a part for each of us to play… a part unique to our inherent talents. We follow His lead and allow Him to orchestrate our lives according to His infinite wisdom.
We may wonder why some of the music sounds out of key… seeming to lead the symphony into disharmony. Yet the Conductor is a Divine Maestro. We hear the music only from our perspective. He hears each of the instruments individually and will bring all into perfect harmony.
God has created a magnum opus – the greatest of musical works. We place our trust in Him for He is the symphony’s Creator. We have faith in Him to masterfully lead His orchestra through a stellar performance and a glorious finale.
“The Lord Almighty has sworn, ‘Surely, as I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will happen.'” – Isaiah 14:24
When things appear out of control, we can rest in the knowledge that God is in control. When life seems “out of key”, we know that He is orchestrating behind the scenes to bring about His perfect will and divine purpose.
This is one certainty in our lives… that God is sovereign… of infinite power and eternal existence. We can rest in the absolute truth of God and His nature. He is constant… ever faithful… never changing. In Him we find peace.
“‘For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,’ declares the Lord.” – Isaiah 55:8
We may not always understand God’s ways. His ways are infinitely higher than ours. He sees all from His timeless and eternal perspective. Yet we can always trust His heart. He has total power over evil and perfect goodness toward us, His children. Ultimate victory rests with our God and those of us who believe in Him. Would we want to place our faith in anyone or anything else?
