NOTHING CAN SEPARATE US FROM OUR SAVIOR’S LOVE

“Who, then, can separate us from the love of Christ? Can trouble do it, or hardship or persecution or hunger or poverty or danger or death?” – Romans 8:35

The apostle Paul endured all for the sake of Christ. Nothing could dissuade him from his mission of spreading the gospel. He rested his faith in the undying love of his Savior. This absolute certainty allowed him to face any affliction. The love of the Lord sustained his heart through it all.

“For I am certain that nothing can separate us from His love: neither death nor life, neither angels nor other heavenly rulers or powers, neither the present nor the future, neither the world above nor the world below there is nothing in all creation that will ever be able to separate us from the love of God which is ours through Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:38-39

We can never be lost to the love of Christ. Nothing can ever separate us from Him… no powers in heaven, on earth or under the earth… no outward tribulation or inward distress. Nothing we have ever done in the past or will do in the future can sever His bond of love.

No matter how alone we may feel, our Savior’s love surrounds us. In Him we are secure. Even death itself has no hold upon us as believers. For it marks just the beginning of an eternity living in His loving presence.

“I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” – Ephesians 3:18-19

The limitless love of Christ touches every corner of our existence. A love that is wide, spanning across the breadth of our individual life experiences. A love that is long, stretching back before we were born and continuing through the length of our lives. A love that is high, soaring to the heights of our joys and celebrations. A love that is deep, reaching to the depths of our sorrows and suffering.

The vast love of Christ touches all humanity. The breadth of His love extends to all the world. The length of His love is from everlasting to everlasting (Psalm 103:17). The height of His love stretches up to His eternal throne in heaven as the Son of God. The depth of His love reaches down to His time on earth… the Son of Man facing death to give us life.

“From the cross God declares, ‘I love you.’” Billy Graham

The endless love of Christ for all mankind led Him to the cross. He proved His unconquerable love for us by offering Himself as the perfect sacrifice. All sin was atoned for by the shedding of His precious blood on our behalf.

If Jesus so gave His all for us, how could His infinite love toward us ever fade? For He is our Shepherd who loves and protects His own. He is the One who laid down His life for us. There is no greater love than this (John 15:13).

“The great thing to remember is that though our feelings come and go, God’s love for us does not.” – C.S. Lewis

Our Savior knows us intimately for we are His perfect creation. Despite knowing everything about us, He loves us with an enduring and unending love… a love that our finite minds can barely comprehend. Nothing will ever affect His love for us. Unlike human love that comes and goes, His love for us never changes. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8).

I have loved you with an everlasting love.” –  Jeremiah 31:3

Jesus is alive today. The King of kings and Lord of lords lavishly pours out His love… as He has from eternity past and will for the eternal future. The warmth of His love melts the coldness of this world. His love is infinitely greater than anything we face… troubles, trials, griefs, afflictions. We may wrestle with anxious thoughts and brooding fears… yet His boundless love conquers all.

The love of Christ is all-encompassing. We can never be separated from His loving presence. Nothing can dissolve the union of love He has with us. Allow His matchless love to sink deep into your spirit. Believe in this love that surpasses all understanding. Bask in the warmth of the endless love of Christ.
