JESUS REIGNS WITH POWER AND AUTHORITY OVER ALL

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.” – Matthew 28:18 –
The Almighty Christ commands absolute power and dominion. He reigns over creation with perfect righteousness. He has conquered death and evil… and is in control of our world and our lives. One day, He will abolish evil forever. He alone is worthy of all our praise.
“Jesus Christ… has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers subject to Him.” – 1 Peter 3:21-22

At the cross, the prophesied plan of salvation unfolds. Satan believes that the death of Jesus will bring to an end His divine mission on earth. The will of the Father will be thwarted. Yet God rules in sovereign supremacy. What He purposes will come to pass.
Jesus’ mission is accomplished. His death and resurrection are the culmination. Satan’s rule is crushed. The Father confers on His Son universal and eternal superiority and command (Philippians 2:9). Jesus reigns forever in glory over heaven and earth, ruling over all creation.
“Our Savior Christ Jesus… has broken the power of death and brought life and immortality.” – 2 Timothy 1:10

The Man Jesus proves His divinity at the Transfiguration. He is truly the Son of God. Yet only by dying can He completely conquer Satan’s ultimate weapon — death. Jesus’ resurrection establishes His absolute power over death and His authority to be King of Kings.
Death no longer has dominion over us as believers. Jesus defeated sin and death for us at the cross, winning for us eternal life (Hebrews 2:14). We need no longer fear death. For in Christ, we have overcome and will live forever with Him in glory.
“When He had disarmed the rulers and the authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in the cross.” – Colossians 2:15

Throughout the time of Jesus’ ministry on earth, evil is especially active. He amazes everyone with His power to drive out demons. The oppressing demons call out to Him… acknowledging Him as the Christ… the Son of God… the Holy One. They recognize that He is the promised Messiah with outright authority over them (Mark 3:11).
In the presence of Jesus, Satan and his evil ones are defeated foes. For Jesus won the epic battle on the cross, triumphing over the powers of evil. Satan and his demons are now disarmed. Christ is the Almighty One… the One who governs in omnipotent glory. All enemies flee in light of His great power.
“He is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come.” – Ephesians 1:21

Evil permeates this world… as allowed by God for a time, under His limitations, until Christ returns. Satan, the prince of the world, holds sway and dominion over all who are not in Christ (1 John 5:19). He rules the unbelieving world. In this fallen world, the enemy seeks the same destruction for all mankind as he will face at the end of time.
Yet Jesus is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He controls nations, leaders and world events. He is sovereign… matchless in might… overseeing all with His divine wisdom, purpose and power. News may seem frightening… events may appear out of control… the future may look bleak and without hope. Yet our hope as believers lies in Christ our King. He will win the ultimate victory.
“Christ died and rose again for this very purpose—to be Lord both of the living and of the dead.” – Romans 14:9

Jesus is our Lord… and our only security in this world. He rules supremely over every detail of our lives. Satan may be prince of the power of the air, yet he is a conquered adversary. Believers are no longer under his sway (Colossians 1:13). His power to enslave and destroy us has been defeated by Christ. We have been redeemed by our Savior.
Jesus is infinitely more powerful than any forces of evil that come against us. The enemy may try to deceive us and lure us away from Christ. Yet Jesus is the One who disarmed the adversary at the cross. He will rule our lives and overrule all evil as we stay united with Him.
“The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign forever and ever.” – Revelation 11:15

Believers have no need to fear the future because Jesus holds the future. The King of Kings is seated victoriously upon His throne in heaven. He has stripped the power from the prince of the world. He has opened the kingdom of heaven to all who believe.
Only Christ conquered sin, death, Satan and evil. Only He can be trusted with our future. In the final days, Christ, the Lion of Judah, will abolish all evil (1 Corinthians 15:24). Satan will be cast into the lake of fire, destroyed forever. Evil will no longer permeate the earth. The Almighty Christ will reign in glory with command and supremacy for all eternity.
