PRAYER IS A HOLY TIME IN THE PRESENCE OF OUR LORD

“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.” – Revelation 22:16 –
Have you ever thought of Jesus as your bright Morning Star? Have you awakened early to see in the dawn light a star twinkling in the sky? It’s a star whose splendor is often unseen, unnoticed and unappreciated… a star whose radiance shines in the darkness… a star whose brightness soon fades away as the morning sun illuminates the sky.
Jesus is the brightness of our day. He can remain unnoticed and unappreciated in our lives if we fail to acknowledge and revere His presence. Yet if we take the time for prayer with Him, His radiant light shines into our darkness and fills us with His light.
Perhaps you’re not a morning person… Jesus is still your Morning Star. His presence is the splendor that indwells your spirit. His light is the radiance that illuminates your path. His power is the brightness that overcomes the darkness of your life.
“Relying on God has to start all over every day, as if nothing has yet been done.” – C.S. Lewis
The key that unlocks our day is time with our Lord. He unlocks His treasures… He reveals His plans… He opens doors in our lives. His perfect will unfolds before us. Prayer is not about the time of day… it is about the daily time spent with our Lord. This time is to be when our hearts are open and receptive, our minds are focused and still, and our spirits seek His presence.
God will speak to us in so many ways. He will not withhold His revelation knowledge. He longs to share His heart with us and desires to guide us in our day. Our Lord may speak to us through His Word, through books, songs and praise videos, and even through His Creation. We need only be still and listen with our hearts. He will make His presence known.
“God has infinite attention to spare for each one of us. You are as much alone with Him as if you were the only being He had ever created.” – C.S. Lewis
If each day we take time to be still and exalt God, our day becomes grounded upon our Rock. He becomes the One upon whom we build our lives. Yet too often we are hurrying around, preparing for the day ahead. The hustle and bustle of life can quickly take over if we are not careful.
If we commit to time alone in a quiet place, and come with sincere and open hearts, our prayers will be focused and worshipful. We will recognize the presence of Jesus with us through His Holy Spirit, and will hear His voice softly speaking to our spirits. We talk with Him… laying before Him our plans, our needs, our concerns, our hopes. We know He listens with a loving ear and a compassionate heart.
“My prayers, my God, flow from what I am not; I think Thy answers make me what I am.” – George MacDonald
It is in the quiet presence of our Lord… in this holy time alone with Him… where we find our faith deepening, our courage strengthening, our fears dissipating. We face the day with newfound confidence. We are brave in Him. Whatever comes our way… trials or troubles… blessings or joys… we meet it all in harmony and oneness with our loving God.
What does Jesus want to share with you this day? Will He bring answers to your problems, clarity to your plans, promises for your future? We can only know by spending time in prayer and fellowship each day with Him… our Morning Star.
