MOUNTAIN MOVING FAITH OVERCOMES OUR DOUBTS AND FEARS

Stop talking to God about how big your mountains are, and start talking to your mountains about how big your God is!  Joel Osteen –

What mountains are you facing in your life? What obstacles are blocking your way on your spiritual walk… hindering you from becoming all that God wants you to be?

On our spiritual journey, we encounter mountains. Impasses that often appear insurmountable. They may be mountains that have stood in our paths for a long time… or perhaps ones that have very recently come to block our way. Mountains can raise questions in our faith and doubts in our prayers.

Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. – Mark 11:23

This is a promise from our Lord. He would not speak this into our lives if mountain moving faith were not possible. He says if anyone. He is not directing this promise just to His apostles. He is speaking to us, His followers.

Our faith can move mountains. Steadfast faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He is our foundation, our Cornerstone. When not abiding in Him, our faith will crumble. We may appear to have faith… yet the storms of life will batter us and our doubts will rise within us.

While faith can move mountains, our doubts can create them. Mountains of doubt separate us from God and hinder our prayers. Doubts cause us to forget who our all-powerful God is… and question His ability to help us.

When you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. – James 1:6

What answers will come to our prayers when we lack faith… when we question God’s ability to answer even as we ask? Could this be a stumbling block for us? Our prayers will be ineffective if we are harboring uncertainty in our minds and hearts. Faith that wavers is not completely convinced that God is able… or that His way is best.

Doubts slowly erode our faith. We cannot have strong faith and harbor misgivings in our hearts. Our faith believes in our Lord… who He is… what He can do for us… and what His promises mean for our lives.

Our mountains cannot be moved on our own. We can attempt to chip away at them rock by rock, pebble by pebble. Yet all our efforts will not have significant results. We can wait for the winds and rains to slowly wear them away. Yet we will be battered by the storms of life without our Lord.

All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. – Matthew 28:18

Mountain moving faith is powerful. It is absolute trust in the Almighty One. It overpowers doubts and fears. It shatters excuses, rationalizations, trepidations.

Jesus is our mountain mover. Mountain moving faith looks to Him for power… power to remove obstacles in our path For it will be His power, not our own. No mountain we face is too big for Him to eliminate. He is the One who grows our faith, calms our storms, clears our path. With Him on our side, nothing can stand against us.

Praying in His mighty name, name above all names, puts power in our prayers. All creation is subject to Him. All that looms before us, all that seems insurmountable… with a word He can cast it away. It is His absolute sovereignty over heaven and earth that is behind His name.

Faith gives us the power to walk fearlessly, run confidently and live victoriously. No one need live in doubt when he can pray in faith. – John C. Hagee

Have you cultivated mountain moving faith in your life? Are you tapping into the source of power behind your prayers… the Lord Jesus? Are you praying in His powerful name above all names?

Our God is infinitely greater than any mountain we face. We need never doubt His ability to work mightily in our lives. Through Him, we can conquer our doubts and fears. We place our complete confidence in the Lord to be our mountain mover.
